19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player secured his first title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging season, winning just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface since that period of 2023.

The win also indicates he has won 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my child her name was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six title deciders, featuring in that event in the past months.

The player's defensive play style and regular emotional displays on court had led commentators to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.

However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

He came back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the last five points to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a final set.

Moutet saved four early break points in a tight final set before the champion won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
